OCEANOGRAPHY
According to the Encyclopaedia Britannica, Oceanography is the scientific study of the ocean under all its aspects. The domains of interest in Oceanography are so vast that one should instead consider it as a crossroads in Science, where spreads a typically inter-disciplinary activity. Fundamental disciplines frequently used are: mathematics, hydrodynamics, thermodynamics, physics, chemistry, biology, geology, geophysics, meteorology and even spatial sciences. It is generally the application of some of them that allows to put in evidence the mechanisms of observed phenomena.
Océanide Inc. is a company of which the main domain of
activity is physical oceanography and hydrodynamics. Main services offered
by the company in oceanography are tides, waves and currents measurements
related to sediment transport including the modeling of the coastal and estuarine
processes. The founder president possesses a long time experience in the field
of the Oceanography (30 years); he developed numerous software packages for
the treatment and the analysis of oceanographic data and the modeling of coastal
processes.
Although our main domains of activity are physical oceanography and hydrodynamics, Océanide Inc. participated in several multidisciplinary projects as it shows in the contribution to the practice of Oceanography of the Dr. Gagnon curriculum vitae.
Furthermore, Océanide Inc. has established partnership with few great engineering firms within the Québec such as SNC - Lavalin and the Group BPR as well as with research institutes in the country.
